Warning: Contains SPOILERS for Fantastic Four #25
Doctor Doom is once again a central figure in the Marvel Universe, having rendered himself completely immune to the powers of the Fantastic Four, his long-time adversaries. Now crowned as Marvel’s new Sorcerer Supreme, Doom has pledged to safeguard Earth from its own chaos, dismissing any opposition, including that from Marvel’s First Family.
In Fantastic Four #25, penned by Ryan North and illustrated by Carlos Gómez, the Fantastic Four face the repercussions of Marvel’s extensive “Blood Hunt” crossover. Particularly, they grapple with the mysterious situation in Latveria, which Doctor Doom has encapsulated with a magical metal dome. Yet, the team remains clueless about his intentions.
With Doom’s rise to Sorcerer Supreme, readers catch their first glimpse of his plans to establish One World Under Doom. However, the Fantastic Four’s unwillingness to leave things be has led them to an unfamiliar alien world.

True to form, Doctor Doom aims to utilize his newfound abilities to reshape the world into one he envisions as peaceful.
Often overlooked, Doctor Doom has long been recognized as one of Earth’s most skilled and formidable sorcerers. Born in a Romani camp to a mother who practiced witchcraft, Victor Von Doom was exposed to the mystical arts from an early age. Tragically, after a pact with the Devil claimed his mother’s life, Victor devoted his life to discovering a means to resurrect her. He journeyed across the globe in search of answers, amassing knowledge of magic in all forms until he ventured to America in pursuit of scientific solutions.
Ultimately, the device that left Doom scarred and concealed behind a metal mask was an unstable blend of magic and science. Despite this setback, Doom has continued refining his magical prowess, delving into volatile magics that even Doctor Strange avoids. Strange has repeatedly acknowledged Doom as a fitting candidate for Sorcerer Supreme, so it comes as no surprise that the Latverian ruler eventually attained this distinction. Predictably, Doom intends to wield his newfound powers to transform the world into one capable of achieving peace.

Marvel’s New Sorcerer Supreme Is Already Altering Reality
This unprecedented level of magical expertise marks a new accomplishment that even Doctor Strange has yet to achieve.
Currently, the specifics of Doom’s strategy for establishing world peace remain unclear. Since his rise to power, Latveria has been shrouded from the world by a potent spell that manifests as an impenetrable metal dome. Meanwhile, Reed Richards and the Fantastic Four refuse to stand idly by, deciding they must inspect Latveria more closely. However, when Reed’s curiosity drew his team too near the magical barrier, the Fantastic Four were swiftly transported to an undisclosed alien world in a distant part of the galaxy.
This unprecedented level of magical expertise marks a new accomplishment that even Doctor Strange has yet to achieve. While the Sorcerer Supreme is accustomed to maintaining multiple magical barriers, the ability to instantly teleport individuals across the galaxy represents a new tier of magical skill. Though opening portals to various locations and realms is common among adept magic users, the creation of a built-in enchantment for such a purpose—especially as a mere security measure—is a remarkable feat that only Doctor Doom could accomplish.
Fantastic Four #25 will be released on September 11, 2024, by Marvel Comics.
